A teacher beat the hell out of one of her students in class and it was caught on (VIDEO)

A team from the Texas Education Agency arrives on the campus of a charter school caught in a firestorm of controversy.

Jamie's House Charter School had already made the agency's radar.

Last month, the TEA appointed a monitor to the school because of concerns over teacher certification. In light of the video showing a teacher beating up a student, the agency is now launching a full scale investigation.

Thursday afternoon, attorneys representing 13 year old Isaiah Reagins and his family filed a lawsuit against the teacher, Sherry Lynn Davis, and the school. The legal action alleges assault and negligence.

Attorney Brant Stogner believes the school also tried to cover up what happened. He pointed out the campus has video cameras in every classroom.

"The school said, give us 2 hours. We'll rewind our tape and we'll see what happened on that Thursday. Two hours later, they call Alesha and they say come back to school, we'd like to resolve this issue. Alesha says did ya'll see what was on that tape. The school says we looked at it and we didn't see anything," Stogner said.

Isaiah described how he didn't really think the science teacher would hit him. How he was scared and he backed up into a corner.  "She dragged me. She kicked me in my back and my side here and then she punched me in the face," Isaiah said.

"We are glad to cooperate with the TEA. We've got nothing to hide and we totally believe we have handled this matter appropriately," Sue Davis, a representative of the charter school, said.  The TEA is expected back on campus Friday. The one person no one has heard from in all of this is the fired teacher, Sherry Lynn Davis. She is expected to speak to the media Friday afternoon.
